Registration Opens – Web of Science Discovery Quiz Philippines 2016

Important Dates

Quiz 1: 14 March – 13 April 2016
Quiz 2: 14 April – 13 May 2016
Quiz 3: 16 May – 17 June 2016

Research & Development is seen as an engine to solve
social and economical issues facing Filipinos.
Policymakers in the Philippines have been supporting
local R&D efforts especially universities.
Scientific literature is a source of important information for
all researchers. However, not all literature is equal in
importance. The Web of Science is the gold standard in
scientific databases and includes only the most significant
and important scholarly materials.

Discover the power of Web of Science by taking part in
this quiz and you might just win fabulous prizes!

  • A relatively small number of journals produce the majority of scholarly results. In fact, 50% of all
citations worldwide are generated from only 300 journals. Hence, careful selection of content is
important when you’re looking for impactful research.
  • In 2014, 400,000 papers were published in predatory journals. The carefully selected journal
list in the Web of Science contains none of these unethical journals.
  • In 2015, 43 journals were de-selected from Web of Science for not meeting Thomson Reuters
stringent standards. No other scientific database rigorously monitors the standards of its titles
    as Thomson Reuters does.

Take part in the Web of Science™ Discovery Quiz and imagine you were a researcher in Philippines. What’s more, you stand a chance to win iPhone 6, Apple Watch, iPad Mini 2 and many more!
