The speaker cited many issues regarding peoples’ online activities like gaming, social networking, online merchandise and others. He also discussed the benefits of having an online identity and having none. It indeed catered all the avenues of web safety and security which is beneficial to all kinds of industries most especially in the academe where students are fully-engaged in online activities. For librarians, the forum served an overview of what it takes to have an online identity and how to pay attention with each one’s online reputation. With this in mind, librarians who attended this seminar surely have in mind the idea of building better services where online harassment can be avoided.
